Camp Objectives

The first and most important question you should ask is, why camp? What are the main objectives for your camp?

The greatest entrepreneurs and the most successful leaders all know their why. They understand the goal. It's what drives success. The old adage is true: if you don't know where you're going, you'll never know when you get there.

Quality camp programs are ever growing and changing to meet the needs of individual campers and their families. You should set goals that help you attain your individual objectives. Your goals should push your organization forward, not allowing you to become stagnant.

At KidSpot, our goal is to help campers grow spiritually, academically, and socially. We see day camp as the great era of experimentation. Campers get to try new activities, develop new talents, and learn more about their own personalities. We want our campers to leave camp thinking about how to be their best selves.

This informs everything from our schedules to our approach to discipline. We want campers to have a safe place to try and fail, so they can be better.

Why do you do camp? What is the point? Search for that objective, then drive after it with everything you can. Use every day to bring your campers closer to the mark. Create a camp experience that makes an impact on kids and families in your community.
