A Camp Service Project: KidFlicks

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived a life in service to the community, and inspired us all to do more with what we have been given. In honor of Dr. King’s legacy, we wanted to bring you a great service project you can do with your campers this summer!

How many of your campers have a set of movies sitting around that they never watch anymore? Most kids stream their movies and TV shows online. But in hospitals all around America, kids who are sick and need help often don’t have access to movies. Why not let your campers help! Host a drive to have your campers bring in a few extra kid or teen friendly DVD’s. The goal is 100 DVD’s, which is enough to provide a library to one hospital! Encourage campers to give up some of their favorites, and talk with your campers about how important it is to share what we have to help those who are less fortunate. Once you’ve collected your movies, head over to http://www.kidflicks.org and see where you can ship them and how you can get involved.
